Hjerterommet

På ferie i egen by

Volunteers and professionals

Good spirits the best tool.
The Patriots are an organization for people donating voluntary work for the benefit of events in the city. This was my first encounter with them, and are here represented by Mildrid, Ingrid, Brit and Julie.

Love from Italy.

Primary schools and kindergartens take the opportunity to visit the downtown area. This bunch from Øvre Sjetnan Kindergarten.

Jon Endre Rånes and Terje Halland ready the main stage at the city square. "We left at 05.00 this morning and started working again at 08.00. Not much sleep, but that's what you have to do to get everything done." A twinkle in his eyes tells me of fondness for his work and enthusiasm for this venue.

Pupils fram Singsaker Primary School gain insight into what it takes to whole roast a pig.

Open for trade and some cheerful conversation.

A gentle start to the morning

Procession towards the Nidaros Cathedral at the start of The Festival of Saint Olav.

Activity and people slowly flows into the city. A selection of people from different walks of life sharing a street corner ;)
Strolling towards the town square.
Tranquil holiday mood for the joint family of Vercruysse and Akvarstein. They have made their way here from the town of Tromsø of Northern Norway. Kids and adults look forward to enjoy the large indoor swimming pool of Pirbadet, and to absorb the atmosphere of everything that takes place in Trondheim these days.

Preparing for the event at 15 o'clock in The Church of Our Lady / Vår Frues Kirke.

Knut Størdal and Notto Birkeland are tuning and making this famous church organ ready for the performance.

Building for tomorrow ;)

At the eve of Olavsfestdagene and the annual Regional Food Festival, preparations are coming to an end.

At the Cathedral's West Wing; a family of three, from Germany ;)

Lazy summer evening by the river Nidelven. The signature buildings of NTNU and Kristiansten Fortress silhouettes the horizon.

Assembly team and heads of department make final preparations. There is anticipation in the air, but the atmosphere is systematic, and joyful.

Egil, is one of many working tonight, and takes care of the various setups and preparations needed for the day to come.

Sometimes, there is a short distance between the past and the present.

Wednesday has just begun, and the light summer night slips gently towards day. Time is 3.20 a.m. and the city center has its own kind of ambience.
